Pat Methany: Side-Eye III+ Tour with James Francies & Joe Dyson

Born into a musical family in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Pat Metheny emerged on the international jazz scene in 1974. He quickly developed a distinctive style that blends horn-like articulation with advanced rhythmic and harmonic sensibility, grounded in melody, swing, and the blues.

With the release of his groundbreaking debut Bright Size Life in 1975, Metheny reinvented the jazz guitar sound for a new generation.

Throughout his career, Metheny has paired innovation with collaboration, continually expanding the expressive possibilities of his instrument. His work spans solo guitar, small ensembles, electric and acoustic projects, large orchestras, and experimental instrumentation, consistently transcending the boundaries of any single genre.

His achievements include 20 Grammy Awards across multiple categories, three gold records, induction into the DownBeat Hall of Fame in 2015, and recognition as an NEA Jazz Master in 2018, the nation’s highest honor in jazz.

The Side-Eye project reflects Metheny’s ongoing commitment to mentoring and collaborating with emerging jazz talent. Designed as an intimate setting for musical exchange, Side-Eye showcases both Metheny’s leadership and the next generation of improvisers.

For the Side-Eye III+ Tour, Metheny is joined by Chris Fishman on piano and keyboards, Joe Dyson on drums, and Jermaine Paul on bass.
