History Happy Hour: How Young People are Advocating for a New American Dream

Young people today face a rapidly changing world shaped by challenges such as rising housing costs, limited career opportunities, and the growing influence of emerging technologies. Across the country, members of Generation Z are coming together to advocate for solutions and redefine what the American Dream means for their generation.

Join Sam Hiner, Executive Director of the Young People’s Alliance, for a discussion on how young people are working across party lines to address issues affecting their communities. Named to the 2026 Forbes 30 Under 30 list for his work in social impact, Hiner has led his organization in mobilizing more than 20,000 students to take political action nationwide.

During the program, he will highlight YPA’s 4,000 members and their efforts to advocate for affordable housing, entry-level job opportunities, and safer digital environments.

Sam Hiner is the 23-year-old Executive Director of the Young People’s Alliance, an organization focused on empowering young Americans to engage in civic advocacy and shape policies that impact their future. YPA’s Declaration for a New American Dream has been signed by thousands of young people, and its Human-like AI Framework has helped inform legislation to make technology safer for children.
