DC Science Comedy with Kasha Patel

Presented by Improbable Comedy, Science Comedy Night blends sharp stand‑up with the wonder of science, featuring comedians Kasha Patel (NPR, TEDx) and Robert Mac (Comedy Central) for a nerdy night of laughter.

Kasha draws from her extensive scientific experience at NASA and as science journalist to create smart, accessible comedy. She has published research in journals Astronomy & Geophysics and Inorganica Chimica Acta, and shared her insights in the TEDx talk “Sneaking Science into Stand-Up,” where she revealed surprising findings from analyzing more than 500 of her own jokes. She was named one of the 50 Best Undiscovered Comedians in the U.S. by Thrillist magazine for her ability to merge science and comedy.

Robert Mac is best known as the Grand Prize Winner of Comedy Central’s national “Laugh Riots” competition and for his appearances on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” and he has two specials on Dry Bar Comedy. He has been seen on the stages of the inaugural Great American Comedy Festival, the Boston Comedy Festival, Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival, and other highly acclaimed events throughout the country. Entertainment Business Journal ranked Mac in the top 100 stand-up comedians in the U.S.

This is more than comedy — it’s an engaging journey where science and laughter collide, leaving audiences inspired, entertained, and seeing the world through a fresh lens. Perfect for families, students, and anyone curious about how fun science can be!
